When I install 3D Canvas I get the
error "Error 1904
3dcsg.dll failed to register"
This can be resolved by installing the most recent version of
Microsoft's DirectX which is available here.
After DirectX 9 is installed, 3D Canvas will need to be uninstalled and then
re-installed.
When I run 3D Canvas I get error
message #429
This has several possible causes:
- If the error occurs when starting 3D Canvas it is
usually because a component of Windows is either missing or out of date.
Running Windows Update will often resolve the problem.
If running Windows Update does not resolve the problem then it
may be necessary to manually correct an entry in the Windows Registry.
To correct the Windows registry entry for Microsoft Data Access
Components open a Command Prompt and type: c:\windows\system32\regsvr32
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO360.DLL".
Note that if you have a non-English version of Windows you will need to
replace the paths with those appropriate for your language. You can find
the required paths by searching for "regsvr32.exe" and "dao360.dll".
- If the error occurs when recording a video it is
usually the result of the 3D Canvas Pro/Plus upgrade not being
installed. Click here
for more information.
I receive error #3343 when I run
3D Canvas.
This error can often be resolved by the
following procedure:
-
Copy all documents you have created in
the "My Documents/3D Canvas" folder to another folder.
-
Uninstall 3D Canvas and any upgrades.
-
Delete the "3D Canvas" folder from "My
Documents".
-
Re-install 3D Canvas and any upgrades.
-
Copy your documents back to the "My
Documents/3D Canvas" folder.
When I run 3D Canvas I get error
message #3633.
This is caused by the Microsoft Jet components of Windows
being out of date. An update is available
here1.
When I run 3D Canvas I get error
message #3446.
This is caused by the Microsoft Windows' Data Access
Components being out of date. An update is available
here1.
When I am using 3D Canvas I often
get error #91.
This is usually caused by the Microsoft Windows' Data Access
Components being out of date. These can be updated by installing Windows XP
Service Pack 2.
When I run
3D Canvas I receive error #32811
This can be corrected by installing DirectX 9.0c or
higher.
When I install 3D Canvas I get
error #1931.
This error can normally be ignored and 3D Canvas will
install properly.
When I run 3D Canvas it says that I
have to upgrade DirectX but I have the latest DirectX installed.
This can often be resolved by uninstalling and
re-installing 3D Canvas.
3D Canvas produces an error when I run
it on Windows Vista.
3D Canvas requires that Windows Vista's User Account
Control be on. Many people turn this off to reduce the number of security
questions that Windows Vista asks, but currently it needs to be on to run 3D
Canvas.
I am using Windows Vista/XP/2000 and am having problems with my system rebooting when
3D Canvas is running.
The usual cause for system reboots with Windows Vista/XP/2000 is graphics card drivers. Graphics card drivers can be downloaded
from the manufacturer of your graphics card or the manufacturer of your
computer.
The most recent version of DirectX is available from Microsoft here1.
If upgrading DirectX does not resolve this issue, try installing new drivers for your
Video Card.
How do I print what I have made?
3D Canvas does not have any ability to print on its own, but you can use Microsoft
Paint that comes with Windows to print 3D Canvas models.
There are two possible ways to print. You can print a "screen capture"
created using the Windows "Print Screen" function, or you can use the 3D Canvas
Animation Camera to take a "snapshot".
Method 1: Print Screen
- When you see something you like, press the Alt and Print Screen keys on your keyboard
(at the same time)
- Open Microsoft Paint (or any other paint program you want to use)
- From the Edit Menu select "Paste"
- Select Print from the File Menu
Method 2: Snapshot
- Right-Click on the 3D Canvas grid and select Camera->Animation
- On the right hand side of the main (top) toolbar there
is a button with a Camera icon. Click that button to record a snapshot to a file.
- Open the file saved in the previous step with Microsoft Paint
- Select Print from the File Menu
Is it possible to change something made with an Object
Building tool?
Yes. Simply double-click on the Object, or right-click on it and select "Open
Source" from the popup menu.
